This is a reference for Ben Brown as a contractor. My daughter and her family and I contracted with Mr. Brown to build a new "granny unit" for me and to completely remodel a home on the same lot. The remodel removed all of the existing house except for the foundation and one wall which had a fire place/chimney on it. Thus, there was new wiring, plumbing, flooring, extension of the basic design for another bedroom and increasing the size of the living room. In my home, he had to start from scratch and using architectural plans build up. We originally contracted to dry wall but were so pleased with his work that we contracted for him to finish both homes. In the process he was required to obtain and work with sub contractors, the plans, the permit system of our county, and those who assisted him in the building.
Mr. Brown's bid was very reasonable and even when we added to the original contract he never over charged, in fact would do things without trying to charge for them. He is the most conscientious, courteous, and detail oriented builder with whom I have ever worked. I would hire him in a minute if I had another house to build.
